"I am sorry you are giving up judging, Leo, I used to enjoy your visits to our Club" a fellow PAGB judge said to me the other day which took me a little by surprise. " I haven't" I replied "but I have given up judging IN PERSON at clubs on cold winter evenings as I no longer enjoy driving at night - and your club would never pay for a B & B!"
As this is not the first comment I have received along these lines I wish to clarify the situation. I am remaining a PAGB judge (until they sack me) and am only too delighted to judge during the day at Club, Federation or PAGB events and also National/International Exhibitions. I still judge by Zoom at any time and some of the more remote UK clubs find this very helpful as the cost is a small donation to a chosen Charity rather than a large travelling expenses claim. So, there is still life in the old dog yet.
